Jools - Two Shots, Definitely One Miss

I am up late again watching/listening to Jools Holland, I think they are repeats from earlier in the year but yesterday was Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire who were both pretty damn good, and surprisingly so were The Black Eyed Peas.
However I'm writing more about tonight's offering, having just been pleasantly surprised by Robert Plant, and witnessed a tight song by Athlete (could I have expected anything else? Surely not a break from the norm anyway) but then a band called "The Fall" played a song/catastrophe, I think I have heard of them before, they are pretty famous right? But they were awful!!! yeh the guitars and bass were pretty nice, some really cool ideas, right up my street...
but the singer was actually the worst singer I have EVER heard, he whined and mumbled for 5 minutes, I don't mean Thom yorke whine, or Ian Curtis mumble, I mean castrated cat with a rat in his mouth whine/mumble. I was actually glad to hear "you got whyers" (no that isn't a spelling mistake) by Athlete.

Anyway, I'm off to bed, not sure my ears will ever quite be the same again especially not when I may have to endure the mumbly whine of soulvendor gigs again :)

ARGH!!! he just started again *aky scoots upstairs in one mahoosive leap*

Home

Time for the usual: "wow im back home" blog. So yeh there you go, I have been home for a few days, nice to see my family, have good meals, sleep on a double bed, but I do miss Nottingham... But this is my favourite holiday, Soulvendor should be playing some gigs, and the whole family hasn't been together for ages. Plus msn makes me feel that the Q block crew (plus extras :)) are still alive and well.

oh yeh, i bought some turkey at Sainsburys yesterday, got home and then my mum noticed that it had already gone out of date! no i didn't drive through any wormholes on the way home (ho ho ho), so what is with that!? needless to say I will be taking it back, watch out selly oak...

Blog Abuse

I recently read a mates blog and he has written a comment about his ex girlfriend which could perhaps be construed as cutting and she left a comment explaining that it had hurt her.

I was wondering whether on a personal blog there is any limit to what you can write, im guessing usual rules of slander apply, but on a level of explaining your dislike of your girlfriends actions is there any limit? Should he listen to her demands that he take his particular article down?

well I have no answer to this, I don't know what the correct thing to do is, but oooo it makes me wonder.

Ber ber beuno!

I have just come into my room after an x-files session, you see having come to uni I have, like most people, got into watching certain stuff on dvd; family guy, 24 and most importantly x files. I just got in from a 4 episode session, it really is very good. Anyway my point for this blog is something which was raised in one of the episodes, and yup you've guessed it, it has a religious link.
ok so Mulder and Scully are trying to protect some kid who is messenger from God or something, he is getting stigmata, and some guy (some kinda demonic character) has already killed 12 people with it, anyway the point that comes out of it, is that Mulder (who puts his faith in the existence of aliens) doesn't believe Scully when she talks about God (Scully, although she is Christian puts her faith in things which can be proven)
I found it interesting that both Mulder and Scully display faith, neither believes the other, and both require proof of the other's viewpoint to be able to believe. Scully has a reasonable belief in terms of the existence of God, seeing as it is a popular viewpoint, whereas Mulder has the reputation of being well "spooky" since he believes in something which has a minority viewpoint.
I haven't really got a conclusion to this blog, or a particular point, other than it seems to me that most people have faith in something, but also reject other things, even if both are as rational as each other, also that people have such strong pre-existing beliefs that often events will be interpreted in the way that person wants to see them, for example Mulder sees much more "proof" of alien existence than Scully, and vice versa on the God issue.
anyway I can hear the music starting up again.
The truth is out there...

Get a room!

ok, the other day in the dinner queue, some random guy kept on trying to pull his girlfriend and like chew her hair and stuff, which is fine whatever, but i think in a dinner queue surrounded by 20 people is the wrong place, i don't disagree with public show of affection at all, but i think there is a limit, for example when i was travelling and i was on a bus for like 8 hours, some couple in front of me were making out the whole time, which got pretty annoying after a while.

my question is:
is this wrong of me?

do people think its quite ok to be over affectionate in public, or like me do you think that is perhaps a little false, and that affection (considering it is between two people... normally) should be left at home, except for the simple stuff hug kiss, yeh parties are different.

p.s. the girl in the queue didn't look like she was happy with him, i think she felt embarresed but then im no analyst, and the people in oz were on a bus with little else to do, so i didnt mind (too much) but this guy in the queue GEEZ did it annoy me!!!
